Personal Bio: My name is Vivian Nandawula and am 15 years of age. My career dream is to be a surgeon doctor and I have many aspirations. I lost my mother at the age of three. I got 8 Aggregates in P.L.E. I completed Primary Seven in 2022 from God Cares Community School – Kasensero. Right now am at home in Kasensero; am not studying due to lack of school fees. Am a born again Child who loves God. My father is alive but he has refused to pay for me school fees even my completing primary seven, it was the school which felt merciful and allowed me to study without any fees being paid from P.6 up to completing P.7. I live at Kasensero in a family of 11 members. Our Daddy has 09 children; six girls and three boys. Among the six girls, three girls are studying and the other three are married. My academic journey so far has been too hard because I first missed school for four years after kindergarten class. This happened when I was still staying with my mother before she died. She died when I was three years. Am the second born of the three girls born to my mother. After the death of our mother, we were taken to our grandmother’s home where we lived for four years. But in those four years, I studied one class, primary one. After the death of our grandmother, our father remembered us and he took two of us to his home with my elder sister. We started studying, my elder sister was a class ahead of me but when COVID 19 came in, my sister who was in primary six, she refused to go back to school but for me I continued with my studies. My father was very annoyed with my sister’s gesture of refusing to go back to school. Hence-forth, my father became too irresponsible towards paying my school fees. This happened when I was in Primary six. Since then, I have been pleading to Mr. Nsamba Gerald, administrator of the school and the bursar for me to keep in school and completed P.7. For sure they have been too kind too me at the expense of my father who not bothered at all about my studies. They used to send me for school fees several times but nothing would be given to me from home!!! I prayed and believed God for help because I loved studying and I was a serious student, Mr. Nsamba stood with me, I completed P.7 minus my father paying a coin to the school. After P.7, I have tried to go to a cheap secondary school but they have sent me back home for school fees and as I talk now, am at home seated; am not studying. The challenge I have is that my father didn’t change. He is still negative about educating a girl child even after performing well at P.7. My father is suggesting that I quit studying yet I still love to study and become successful. I want to achieve my dream of being a surgeon doctor because they taught us that, “Education is the Key to success.” And I want to be successful.
