Rovence Nakayiwa

She lives with her sister who is married with three kids and her husband in Kichwamango village Rakai district. She is the last born among the four children and the only one still going to school.

Rovence was told that her father died when she was one year and her mother died when she was around two years. After the death of her mother she was taken to her grandmother where she lived up to the age of nine years and thereafter, one of her sisters got married and went with her and she is the one living with her up to now.

Rovence says she had a bad experience when she was still living with her grandmother whereby she was raped by a man at the age of nine years and she was able to shout and people came to her rescue.

Rovence says most of the times her brother in law is unable to provide her with school fees and personal requirements. One time she was told to sit home because there was no money and used to feel a lot of pain seeing other children going to school but she had to put her trust in the Lord and they took her to school again. She thanks God for helping her join a secondary school but she says most of the times she gets worried about her future because her sister and brother in law are unable to support her with all the school fees and personal requirements.

During holidays, Rovence helps her sister in the garden which is the source of food and some money for caring about the family.

Rovence’s dream is to become a surgeon doctor and she wants to help her sister’s family which is trying to help her. She also wants to preach the word of God because one time her grandmother took her to the shrine and she was not okay with it.
