Joyce is the third born among the seven children of the family.

She stays with the step mother who is 45 years. She is responsible for taking care of Joyce with the little support she can afford.

She cultivates food crops but she cannot provide scholastic materials most of the time she lacks.

At the age of 6years Joyce was abandoned by the mother.

The girl doesn't know where about the mother went

There was mistreatment of the mother by her father and she decided to go where they don't know

She is challenged with the step mother who is drunkard whereby when she comes from the bar she begins to torture the boy. 

She is the most un favored child of the family .

The father doesn't stay at home always.

Joyce is tortured and traumatized mentally.

 It becomes a challenge to pay her school fees and other materials

However she  lacks school fees, school and personal requirements like school uniform, books, so her life is so upset about the family she is living in.
