Isaac lives in Soroti district, eastern region of Uganda. Isaac lives at a pastor’s home who took him up after the father being sentenced into jail for issues relating to murder which they say he wasn’t involved in.

He says that their father left six children and their grandmother under the care of their mother. Isaac’s mother struggles hard to take good care of her children, her mother in law and her co-wife with her children. They plant crops such as sim-sim, cassava, beans and ground nuts which they use for home consumption and sell some surplus for children’s clothes, school requirements and other necessities.

Paying school fees became a burden to Isaac’s mother until their pastor came to their rescue and took all children to his primary school where Isaac finished P.7 from. He is worried whether he will complete his studies successfully, however he says that his trust is only God who is able to pave way where seems to be no way.

During holidays, Isaac helps his mother in the garden, and also does home chores at pastor’s home where he sleeps. The pastor provides books and a few other requirements to Isaac.
