Deus lives in Kyabakuza, in the outskirts of Masaka city. He lives with his cousin sister, her husband and their five children. Deus’s cousin brought him from his mother at 8 (eight) years, since the mother was not able to educate him alongside other responsibilities.

Deus last lived with his father at 7 (Seven) years for a period of two months. Deus says he has never seen his parents living together; meaning that they separated while Deus was very young. Unfortunately by the time his father died last year (2022), Deus says he had never received any support from him.

The mother is alive, living in Kasese district with six children whose fathers are also different and her earning is very minimal that she is unable to support all her children. However, recently she sent Deus some money which he used to buy the school uniform.

Deus is so thankful to his cousin and her husband who support him with school requirements and personal necessities. His cousin carries out small scale farming and Deus also involves himself in such, whenever he is not at school. Since these also have their own children, it becomes hard to meet all the needs for Deus and the children.

Deus’s dream is to become an electrical engineer so as to serve his nation and God through this occupation.
