Background of the School

Victorious is a Christian school started on January 26th, 2009 with only 3 classes (daycare/babies to 1st grade) with 43 total students. There were 26 orphans and only 20 were able to pay for schooling to help fund the teachers and school.

A Christian group came into the community trading center for evangelism with a team under Life Ministries Uganda. As they were reaching out in the community they identified many issues including cannibalism, poverty, alcoholism, witchcraft, and theft which devastated the community. They dreamed of developing a Christian school as a source of truth of the living God to combat the powers of darkness dwelling in the community. Poverty is a large issue with addiction to alcohol hindering parents from taking care of their children. There were few Born-Again Christians and little proper education in the area. They felt this confirmed the need to create a formal Christian educational school. 

Mr. Sam Kakeeto, the founder of the school, was raising pigs at Glory of Christ and was a minister at a local church. The community members longed for the school to be started in the area in order to fight the evil and tragedies that were taking place near their homes. Director Sam felt called to take action to seek approval for a school by the chairman of the village. Shortly after, the school was opened. Some of the community members volunteered their own resources so the school could be established. In April 2009, Set Free visited Victorious Tata. In November 2009, Set Free suggested buying land for the school. The land that was purchased was property formerly owned by wealthy and powerful witch doctors.

What Makes Victorious Unique

1 John 5:4 "for whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith."

It was through this verse that the name Victorious Primary School was created.

Victorious hired 13 Born-Again teachers because we believe that you can't give what you don't have. These teachers have the truth of the Word of God and the light and love of Jesus is in them. Therefore, they are called to change generations through offering Christian education which is the opposite of other local schools. The above core values become our monitoring tools on a daily basis and we abide by them to ensure we stand out among other schools.

 In 2017, the National Examination Board confiscated the exams at Victorious due to their suspicion of the overwhelming success of the student's test results. They accused the students of cheating, but the school's staff believed, through the power of God, that the children's honesty would be made known. They brought the students before a panel of 7 lawyers and other officials to retake the exams. God was looking out for the students. Again, they passed the exams with such high scores that Victorious was ranked the second-highest performing school among 100 other schools in the area. In 2018, Victorious was ranked the 7th best school in our district.
